Wow, hats off to Jack Lopresti for putting his money where his mouth is and actually stepping up to help Ukraine. It’s a stark reminder of how critical it is to stand firm against authoritarian regimes like Putin’s. The West needs to stay united in supporting Ukraine because a Russian victory would embolden tyrants everywhere. This just shows how high the stakes are in this conflict.
While I respect his conviction, I can't help but wonder if a former MP joining the fight is more symbolic than practical. It’s a reminder, though, of how complex and deeply polarizing this conflict has become on the global stage.

Another politician jumping into a foreign conflict to play hero while ignoring the deeper role Western powers have played in fueling this war in the first place. Instead of escalating the situation, maybe we should be questioning NATO expansion and the constant meddling that led us here. It’s always ordinary people who pay the price for these imperialist power plays.
